These past few months have been quite a ride. I recently stopped going to college. I couldn’t find anything that I was passionate about so I asked God what my next step was and he directed me to Youth With A Mission (YWAM). YWAM is a discipleship training school that helps you grow deeper with God and his Word and gives you hands-on experience in sharing the gospel around the world. I was so ecstatic I could barely contain it however that quickly faded once I realized I had no money to go. One thing I learned quickly is that God will never tell you to go somewhere without making a way for it to happen. Numbers 23:19 NLT says that “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” This season of my life has taught me a lot about depending on God in every aspect, especially finances. The Lord had told me he was going to take care of the finances. I had to fully rely on him and it definitely was not easy. It wasn’t easy still having faith when the ones closest to me thought I was crazy and that I wouldn’t end up with all the money that I needed, I faced a lot of negativity and attacks from the enemy but regardless of what anyone told me I stood on the Word of God. That was what encouraged me and kept me strong while I faced so much denunciation. Deuteronomy 31:6 NIV states “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” The bible also says that if we know what the right thing to do is and we fail to do it we’re sinning (James 4:17) therefore even allowing your family or loved ones to keep you from fulfilling the will of God on your life is still sinning. We have to do what the Lord has called Us to do regardless of the opinions of others. This is an area I’ve been challenged in lately, continuing to do the work of the Lord despite what others think or want me to do. What the Lord thinks should be the most important thing in our lives. Matthew 6:33 ESV depicts this very clearly: “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” With all that being said I am happy to proclaim that the Lord our God did fulfill his promise to me. All of my funds had been provided and I was able to go to YWAM. I am without words, God is such a good God and he always takes care of his children. I am blessed to have a relationship with Him. I want this to be an encouragement to anyone who may be struggling financially or simply struggling to release a certain area of their life to God. If God ever promises you something, he will fulfill it. He always comes through even if its at the last minute. Don’t give up hope and I promise he’ll never disappoint you. He loves you and wants to be there for you, sometimes it just takes a leap of faith! He may not come when we want him to but he always does come at the perfect timing. What a Mighty God we serve!
