The Light Within

Have you ever noticed that whenever the power goes out or you are trying to relax with a little amount of light you use an alternative source to see–such as a candle, flashlight or even a match? And everywhere you go with those sources of light, the shadows and darkness disappear?
The image above is an exact example of this. When you put a match up against the wall, you see a shadow of the stick itself however when it gets up to the flame there is no shadow. No matter where you put that light, it keeps on shining no matter how dark it is around you.

There is a Light inside of you that can never be taken away.

  • John 1:5 AMP “The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].”
  • Matthew 5:14-16 MSG “Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a basket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.”

Our source of light comes from God. Each time the Lord has appeared in Scripture, he is referenced as a beaming light. 1 John 1:5 TPT “This is the life-giving message we heard him share and it’s still ringing in our ears. We now repeat his words to you: God is pure light. You will never find even a trace of darkness in him.” Habakkuk 3:4 NLT “His coming is as brilliant as the sunrise. Rays of light flash from his hands, where his awesome power is hidden.” Ezekiel 10:4 NLT ” Then the glory of the Lord rose up from above the cherubim and went over to the entrance of the Temple. The Temple was filled with this cloud of glory, and the courtyard glowed brightly with the glory of the Lord.”

I want to give you guys a real life example of God being our source of light:When it’s dark in your house, you typically use a flashlight that way you have a path of light directing you to where you are going, right? Well, what happens when you decide to not use a flashlight and just find your way through the dark on your own? You often end up stumbling around, hurting yourself (i.e. stub your toe if your clumsy like me) and straying further away from where you intended on being. That is how it is spiritually. God is our light that guides us through this life, whereas the enemy wants to convince you that you don’t need him; leading you astray and hurting you along the way. Why does he do this? Because he is scared of your Light. The enemy only has one objective and that is to kill, steal and destroy (John 10:10a). He wants you to believe that you are nothing, that there isn’t anything special about you and that your life doesn’t matter, but if you really stop to think about it, why would he try to tell you all those things if the opposite was not true? He KNOWS you’re Special, he KNOWS you’re Loved Dearly by the Most High God, he KNOWS that the Light within you is so much more Powerful than he is. Don’t let him deceive you any longer and step into the Destiny that the Lord has created for Only you. John 15:14-15 TPT “You show that you are my intimate friends when you obey all that I command you. I have never called you ‘servants,’ because a master doesn’t confide in his servants, and servants don’t always understand what the master is doing. But I call you my most intimate friends, for I reveal to you everything that I’ve heard from my Father.”
John 15:14-15 shows that God is the one who Leads you. He wants to expose his true self to you, he wants to direct your path because he knows what’s best for you. He knows the consequences that come with stumbling around in the dark, when you begin to rely on yourself or other things to guide you. Would you rather walk blindly or with God, the one whose Light exposes everything?

This comes to my next point: The reason His Light within us never fades or goes away is because the source of his Light is his Love which is unconditional, never ending, and everlasting. Jeremiah 31:3 MSG “This is the way God put it: ‘They found grace out in the desert, these people who survived the killing. Israel, out looking for a place to rest, met God out looking for them!’ God told them, ‘I’ve never quit loving you and never will.Expect love, love, and more love!” Psalm 86:15 NLT “But you, O Lord, are a God of compassion and mercy, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.” Psalm 136:23-26 MSG “God remembered us when we were down, His love never quits. Rescued us from the trampling boot, His love never quits. Takes care of everyone in time of need. His love never quits. Thank God, who did it all! His love never quits!” The Passion Translation also states “Give thanks to the great God of the heavens! His tender love for us continues on forever!” Romans 8:35-39 TPT “Who could ever separate us from the endless love of God’s Anointed One?

Absolutely no one! For nothing in the universe has the power to diminish his love toward us. Troubles, pressures, and problems are unable to come between us and heaven’s love. What about persecutions, deprivations, dangers, and death threats? No, for they are all impotent to hinder omnipotent love, even though it is written: All day long we face death threats for your sake, God. We are considered to be nothing more than sheep to be slaughtered! Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything! So now I live with the confidence that there is nothing in the universe with the power to separate us from God’s love. I’m convinced that his love will triumph over death, life’s troubles, fallen angels, or dark rulers in the heavens. There is nothing in our present or future circumstances that can weaken his love. There is no power above us or beneath us—no power that could ever be found in the universe that can distance us from God’s passionate love, which is lavished upon us through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One!” Another great version of this scripture is in The Message!
Be encouraged, the Lord is with you and wants to be that light to guide your path! We’re the Bright Ones lit up with his love, so Shine Bright and let your Light Shine!

God Bless.
